The Dynamic City KL

Hey guys

Apologies for the rather late post, I tried to get down to it but I literally did not get any moment to have a sit down & blog.

It’s been an extraordinary, jet setting journey thus far! You know that feeling when, you having fun, time flies! OMG! I wish I could make time stand still…Even for just a little bit.

Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur is the capital city that makes me fall in love with it over & over again. This vibrant city filled with, hustle bustle & of course fashion paradise is an adventure of a lifetime. The availability of halal food is the cherry on the top & really makes things so much easier when traveling away from home.

Since my significant other & I have both been to KL before, we planned an extra outgoing itinerary. Which I have to say was an exciting fulfilled 5 days & a total way to really explore the beautiful KL.

Weather forecast: Although the forecast always predicts rain & a lot of it, be sure to carry your umbrella with. However, we were really fortunate to only experience rain twice, so not disrupting any of our plans scheduled. Tip: no one can really predict KL weather.

Transport to hotel: Best way to move around from & to the airport is request an über which is far cheaper compared to the local taxis.

Transport in the city: Use the metro train, its super quick to move around from place to place & really easy to operate, even for foreigners.

Hotel: The first time I stayed in the Westin which is at prime location in the heart of KL’s Bukit Bintang opposite the Pavillion Mall, definitely recommend it if shopping is your thing.

This time we booked at the Hilton Double Tree in KL, it’s exactly the opposite side of the city to the Westin but nice thing is, it’s close to the Patronas Towers & takes about a 15 minute walk to KLCC. Being a diamond member with Hilton Honours we got upgraded to a suite a real spacious pleasure to live for 5days. My next post will be about all the hotels we booked in, all the upgrades & services that go with it.

Things to do in Kuala Lumpur:

1. Red hop on hop off bus: Ride around the entire city takes you throughHop on hop off bus all the Main touristic spites, especially for those first timers in KL.

2. Patronas Towers: a.k.a KLCC, are twin skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The towers are a must to do especially book to see the viewing deck of the whole city from above. Go a hour before sunset so you experience the city at day time & get to see the stunning night lights of the city. It’s better to book the tickets online it’s slightly cheaper, but good to avoid those long queues. 20170131_201306Just outside the KLCC is a magical, musical, fountain with lights every half hour, however at night to watch is even more beautiful. The food court also has a wide variety of different cuisines inside the mall as well as by the waterfront. If you looking for an upmarket place than I recommend Harrods store that serves breakfast & high tea.

3.  Bukit Bintang:20170201_205140 is the name of a road for shopping paradise, this is thee place you will return back to your hotel with a pile load of shopping bags in your hands, I promise! It’s a long never ending road of all your favourite brand stores, from Sephora, Charles & Kieth, Zara, H&M…at ridiculous low prices & further more having sales on almost everything. Makes that adrenaline rush flow through your veins. This road has many other malls nearby it that is a must to go for shopping malls Pavillion Mall, Times Square Mall, Fahrenheit Mall, Low Yat Mall (electronics).

4. China Town: for cheap, fake things a place to bargain.

5. Sunway Lagoon: A fun water theme, amusement park, simply fun for the whole family. The best in Malaysia & its just 30minutes outside of KL. If you have time it’s really worth going & best to book online in advance especially for a Thursday package, as they have a buy 1 get 1 free offer.

Food: (To name a few must eats)

1. Tapak:
20170131_211754An urban street dining food truck park! I know right! How freaking terrific! So up my alley…A food park filled with over 20 something really good looking food trucks, with Chefs that make & sell they very own20170202_212242 specialities from meals, to drinks, to desserts, a kingdom of gourmet foods. It’s the future of food with outdoor deco of lights bulbs hanging as the roof, rustic wooden furniture for people to indulge in their meals & just socialize until late hours of the night. It’s all about what’s new & good food. It was so good that we went back for a few times after that.

20170202_1550192. Aunty Anne’s Pretzels:20170202_160745 A tiny store that’s in most malls around KL, you won’t miss it, as people are queuing up for freshly baked sweet or savoury
stuffed pretzels.

3. Tarboosh on Bintang road & another smaller branch in the fancy, top class food court of the Pavillion Mall. Turkish food with spices & a burst of fresh flavours that compliment any meat, a hint of garlic with a salad mix & a chili yoghurt dip. OMG! Mouth-watering for the next bite!
